Full Biography


David Daubenfeld is a Luxembourgish conductor who is appreciated for his friendly and focused working style, as well as for his constructive artistic vision.
During the 2025/26 season, he made his debuts with renowned orchestras including the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, and the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra. He also continues his close collaboration with the RomaTre Orchestra in Rome, where he returned for a fifth time following his highly acclaimed debut in May 2024.
In addition, David began his operatic career as an assistant conductor on productions of Der fliegende Holländer at the Ópera de Tenerife and Zanaïda with the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
David completed his Master's degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. During his studies, he served as Chief Conductor of the university’s symphonic wind orchestra and founded a chamber orchestra dedicated to Classical and Romantic repertoire.
Since 2023, he has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera, and the student orchestra of the University of Music in Wuppertal. As early as 2016, he was invited as the youngest guest conductor in the history of the Ural Conservatory Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2022, David has served as assistant to the renowned conductor Dima Slobodeniouk, accompanying him on projects with leading orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, and other ensembles.
As a former orchestral musician, David has performed with ensembles including the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Vorpommern, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Klangforum Wien, and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen.
David speaks five languages—Spanish, French, German, Luxembourgish, and English—and continues to develop his proficiency in Italian.
